From Pisa airport
Take the train. As of January 2013 the service directly from the station is suspended with a shuttle bus to Pisa Centrale from where you can take teh dtrain to Firenze Sanat Maria Novella; or Ryan Air and Terravision operate coaches to and from the airport to Florence station (€5 and €6 single respectively). Both train and coach arrive at the main railway station in Florence (Santa Maria Novella). .
From Florence Airport
There is a regular bus service from the airport to the Coach Station near Santa Maria Novella. This, incidentally, is the same station for excursions to Siena and San Gimignano.
From Santa Maria Novella (railway station):
If arriving for the first time we suggest a taxi to the flat (up to about €12 depending on amount of luggage, day and no of passengers).
The 11 bus runs from the railway station to close to the flat.
However, if you fancy walking (about 15 minutes), here is the quickest route:
If you are coming by car
There is no parking close to the flat for non-residents. The best idea is to leave the cat at the Park and Ride at Villa Costanza, where you can leave the car for a very reasonable price and get to Santa Maria Novella and back on the tram.
If you want to drive to the flat to drop off or collect luggage before 7.30pm (and later in the summer) - it is in a controlled traffic zone (ZTL) - you will have to buy a temporary pass. This is easy as the police (Polizia Municipale) office where you get the ticket is on the right when you arrive at Porta Romana, having driven through the gate. A short term ticket/pass costs €5). The permit also allows you to park briefly. To drive from Porta Romana to the flat, proceed all the way up Via Romana until you get to a small square with a half-column in the middle. Take Via Maggio which is virtually straight ahead (this is all one way). Take the first left and then immediately the first right into Borgo Tegolaio. Note: it is hard to park the car in the street as it is very narrow – expect to be hooted at!

However, if you fancy walking (about 15 minutes), here is the quickest route:
- Take the right hand exit when you get to the station down the steps. Cross over the road (currently through road works), go left and then take the road (via Santa Caterina da Siena) going away from you past the coach station on the right. At the T junction turn left along Via della Scala and walk all the way to Piazza Santa Maria Novella. With the church well to your left on the other side of the square, take the first right after the arcade (via dei Fossi) towards the river. Cross over the bridge (Ponte alla Carraia) and turn left along the river. When you get to a restaurant slightly set back, turn right down the side street, left along via Santo Spirito and then right again down a very narrow street (via dei Coverelli). You will emerge then down the side of the church of Santo Spirito. Keep going straight ahead and Borgo Tegolaio will begin right ahead of you.
