I live near London (UK) and am married with three grown up children. I retired in 2019 but used to French and Italian in an independent girls' school in North London. In retirement I continue to run a website for Italian teachers and organise events to support the teaching of Italian in teh UK (www.teachitalian.co.uk).
I have many family connections with Florence and have visited it regularly throughout my life and try to go there as often as I can. I know the city well and am only too happy to advise visitors about what to do and see in Florence (and equally where to eat!). |
I bought the flat in 2005 with the intention of allowing me to spend time in Florence, visiting family and friends. The flat was therefore furnished and equipped very much with personal use in mind. Several of the pictures in the flat were painted by my Italian grandfather. It was not long before friends and colleagues asked if they could stay there and word spread more widely. I also get many requests to revisit the flat. However, as time goes on, I intend to spend more and more time there.
